The celebration took place on land owned by a farmer called Max Yasgur. He was moved to tears by Woodstock. He is famously quoted as saying, “If we join them, we can turn those adversities that are the problems of America today into a hope for a brighter and more peaceful future.” Woodstock was almost canceled due to a lack of a location, but this man saved the event by allowing it to take place!
