‘Ava’
You will find a site called Achavanich in the Northern part of Scotland. It is a very mysterious place because of the horseshoe-like arrangement of stones. It was in 1987 that the researchers decided to reconstruct the face of the woman they found on the site. Called ‘Ava’, she is believed to be around 18 to 22 years old at the time of her death. They estimated her remains to be more than 3,700 years old.
What ‘Ava’ Really Looked Like
Archaeologists Hew Morrison and Maya Hoole worked on the ‘Achavanich Beaker Burial Project’. Thanks to them, this facial reconstruction would be impossible, and many details of the Bronze Age would not be discovered. The discovery of her DNA gave scientists the opportunity to recreate her face this way!
