Trajan

Born in September of 53, Trajan was the Roman emperor from the year 98 until he died in 117. He was called optimus princeps or “the best ruler” by the Senate and thought to be one of the greatest solider-emperors in Rome. He reigned during one of the most successful military expansions the Roman empire had ever seen. By the time of his death, the empire attained maximum territorial extent.

They reconstructed his face based on this marble bust discovered by archaeologists. They believe that it came from 113 AD! The artist is believed to be the emperor himself because of its quality. When they unearthed this, it was in more than 356 fragments thanks to an earthquake in the past.
