She can’t think of anything to say, so she just says, “Yes,” She notices David’s face has a strange expression on it. Rose was unable to understand what he had said, and when she made no comment, he became irate. Rose stepped away from the casket and threw him to the ground as he fought to escape. She then took a step back.

David started crying right away. Rose assisted him in getting back up as he was attempting to stand on the edge of the casket to look at his mother. No one was present when she looked around the room for someone who could help her. She comforted David and asked him what he was trying to say to her.
