Bigger Than They Thought

It was difficult to find a place that was appropriate for the festival and could accommodate all of the projected attendees. The festival was originally scheduled to take place at Woodstock, New York, a summer artists colony that was a favorite of many musicians, but it was instead held in Wallkill, New York. Locals voiced their opposition to the event after learning how large it would be. The festival was relocated to a farmhouse in Bethel by the organizers. Despite the preparations, they were completely unprepared for the 400,000 concertgoers who attended. Only 50,000 people were predicted by the organizers! Governor Rockefeller proposed dispatching the National Guard to assist in crowd control. The county of Sullivan ended up declaring a state of emergency!

No Place For Discrimination

Discrimination was not tolerated at Woodstock. Anyone, regardless of race, age, or gender, is welcome to attend. Some parents even attended with their children. Take a peek at this cutie. She appears ecstatic to be there! That’s very cute. Apart from children, there were also babies at the festival…well, actually, their mothers were the ones who came. Unfortunately, some ladies had miscarriages at Woodstock.
