The Lord Of Sipan
The Lord of Sipan was the first of several discoveries collectively known as the Moche mummies. Originally discovered by archaeologists in Peru in 1987, it is one of the most significant finds of the 20th century. They found treasures buried with the Lord of Sipan, not unlike King Tut.
What The Lord Of Sipan Really Looked Like
The forensic team did not have an easy time of it. The skull was broken by the pressure from the sediment. It was a good thing that modern technology made it possible to reconstruct the 96 separate fragments of the skull! They used photogrammetry to reconfigure the bone. The image below was made by the Brazilian Team of Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Odontology.
