Adam Levine
When their debut album Songs About Jane was released in 2002, Maroon 5 grabbed the globe by storm. Sexy frontman Adam Levine aided the group’s ascension to the top of the charts. In the process, the band received several Grammy nominations. But, with time, I’ve realized that listening to Adam’s voice is like watching Groundhog Day on repeat. I’m no singing instructor, but I recognize a bad vocalist when I hear one. Adam’s voice is essentially the same on every track. It’s a little nasally, and after a couple songs, it becomes really irritating. It’s difficult to imagine his voice hasn’t matured or developed significantly in the last decade or so. Yikes.
Rihanna
‘RiRi’ is a fantastic performer. She brings a lot of sexiness to her songs and concerts, but she does it in a very refined way. This is seen in the vibrant music video for her song “Rude Boy.” While Rihanna has a wonderful voice, it pales in comparison to the other giants in the category. Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey have considerably superior voices. This is not to say Rihanna lacks vocal ability. Can we, however, rank her among the finest when compared to these titans?
