Where Is Mommy?
David was completely unaware of all that was happening. When his aunt Rose showed up, she picked him up and drove him to his grandparents. He couldn’t suppress his excitement as he looked up and seen a police car and an ambulance. He couldn’t understand why everyone in his local vicinity seemed depressed and kept asking him about his mother.

Distracting Herself
When Rose was with her nephew, she appeared brave and content, but on the inside, she was in pain. She had recently lost her sister, who was also her closest friend. She used David as a distraction because she was aware of his ignorance of the circumstances. They helped each other in many different ways. Rose believed that David would reside with his grandparents. However, it became immediately evident that this would not be the case.
