A Small Ceremony
There weren’t many people present. Rose and her parents were talking about Haily when they reflected on how wonderful a mother she had been to David and how tragic it was that she had to depart this world so young. Rose usually tended to be uptight most of the time. to see if Vincent had made up his mind to come out of concealment, I looked around. But throughout the whole thing, he was nowhere to be seen. He might decide to attend her funeral and give his respects.

It was time to say goodbye after the ceremony was over. To talk about it, everyone formed a line and drew nearer to the casket. Haily seems at rest and at peace within the open casket. Rose is taken aback and startled by the sight as she sees two police officers enter the room. She believes that when the undertaker arrived to check on the body, he noticed Vincent inside the building and made the call.
