The morning following the accident, Rose answered the phone when it rang. She picked up despite the fact that the call was from an unknown number. On the opposite side, a man’s voice could be heard. She didn’t know who it was at first, but she soon realized who it was. Vincent, David’s father, had made the call. He was considering suing David after learning about the crash.

It was clear that this wouldn’t succeed. Rose introduced herself as Vincent’s godmother and explained how Haily had given her the charge of taking care of David in the beginning. Vincent, on the other hand, was not convinced by the defense. Vincent threatened Rose to “watch her back because he was coming for her,” during their disagreement, but she didn’t seem to be deterred by his remarks. Vincent was never really thought of as David’s father figure.
