The television fishing crews are paid by the producers, thus they are not required to adhere to fishing quotas. It is for this reason that they are able to outbid their other fisherman when it comes to pricing. Because of the show’s existence, things have become difficult in the industry! On top of that, the show relies heavily on editing to make the storylines appear even more dramatic than they actually are.

It was a truck that fell through the ice and into the frigid water in the first season’s opening theme song. The entire scene was created entirely with the help of scale model miniatures! Even though this is a serious problem on its own, cast members have expressed concern about how scripted the show has become. It is also edited in such a way that ordinary individuals appear to be either heroes or villains. There’s also the issue of the producers going to great pains to make things appear much more dangerous than they actually are in real life. This is in addition to the usual reality TV phoniness.
