Boy George Then
Boy George was the frontman for Culture Club, one of the largest rock groups of the 1980s, and was born George Alan O’Dowd. George was a London club kid known for his quirky style and crazy attitudes before Malcolm McLaren, the Sex Pistol’s manager, spotted him. Boy George’s unusual appearance aided the commercial success of songs like “Karma Chameleon,” “Time (Clock of the Heart),” and “Do You Just Want to Hurt Me.” Because of his colorful androgynous dress and appearance, he was recognized by millions of fans all over the world.
Boy George Now
Boy George’s life did not go as expected after the band disbanded for a long period. As George later claimed in interviews, Culture Club’s dissolution was hastened by George’s sexual involvement with the band’s guitarist, Jon Moss, as well as drug use and the unexpected death of its keyboard player due to an overdose. He earned a lengthy prison sentence as a result of imprisoning and then sexually rapping a small child. Boy George has served his time and is now trying to make a comeback. He’s an author, a garment designer, a photographer, and a musician who continues to compose music. His current artistic endeavors have been praised for their honesty and simplicity.
