What Jane Of Jamestown Really Looked Like
Dr. Douglas Owsley is the chief forensic anthropologist at the National Museum of Natural History. He examined the remains of the young girl and learned that the cuts and marks on her remains got there after attempts to separate brain and tissue from bone. It made perfect sense since many people in Jamestown starved in the winter of 1609. It is quite chilling to think of the things they did back then!
Mary Rose Archer
In 1545, the Mary Rose sank while it had been attacking the French. This warship belonged to the English Tudor navy under King Henry VIII. It was discovered nearly 500 years after that! Many crew members were discovered, and experts examined their remains. The archer on the ship was among the crewmen they found on the boat.
