Giovanni Battista Sidotti

Giovanni Battista Sidotti was born in 1668. He was an Apostolic missionary who visited Japan to spread Christianity, which was quite dangerous back then. He disguised himself as a samurai but failed to convince them. They captured him and then imprisoned him. Called “the last missionary”, he died in captivity in 1714.
