Just as John was going to log off of the computer and leave the office, footsteps echoed down the hall. His heart skipped a beat as he realized it was his boss who had returned. Panicked, John searched the room for a spot to hide. There was no way out without being noticed, so his only alternative was to find a hiding place within the workplace.

With no time to spare, John dashed to the closet and slipped inside, closing the door just as his supervisor entered the room. John could barely breathe as he hid under coats and dusty files, listening to his boss move around the office. The stakes were extremely high, and John realized he couldn’t afford to be caught now. He was so close to setting things right, but for now, all he could do was wait in silence.
