When it comes to giving charity, most people like to give to causes that are near and dear to their hearts. But when they see a beggar on the street, it tends to pull on their heartstrings and make them want to help them out too. This is a great thing, overall, but at times, the people we see on the street aren’t who we think they are. We can never really be sure who we’re giving our money to.
Epidemic
The notion of homelessness is a growing issue in America. Each year the numbers are somewhat skyrocketing, an average of 550,000 people now find themselves without a roof over their heads, uncertainty of where their next meal is coming from, and the unsettling feeling of simply having nowhere to go, no warmth and no safety.
Rare Sighting
Each and every individual in the US come across this concept, this surreal truth of homelessness, however, many remain quiet and remain in denial. It is a hard pill to swallow and something the majority of individuals have no idea how to fix. The fact that we do not know how to help often leads to the action of simply being a bystander and letting it become a reality, accepting it as how the world simply is.
