Annia Hatch

Annia Portuondo Hatch is a retired gymnast. When her parents saw her potential in gymnastics at the age of 4, she had already been training as a gymnast ever since. As she was born in Cuba, she went under the mentorship and guidance of the Cuban Olympic Committee. When the preparation for the 1996 Olympic Games started, Annia Hatch learned that her performance and records allowed her to be qualified in participating in the event; however, their funds were not enough for her to make it to the competition – paying the fees and buying a plane ticket to Los Angeles, where the event was about to take place. Even though she felt down for not being able to join the world’s biggest sporting event, she looked at it as an inspiration to work harder and train more. All of the hard work, patience, and everything she did pay off when she was able to participate in the 2004 Olympic Games and bagged two silver medals. A few months later, Annia decided to retire. After her unexpected retirement, she established a fashion line of her own and became a coach. Now, she is spending her life at 41 years old, with the company of her husband, Alan Hatch.

Kyla Ross

Kyla Briana Ross, or simply Kyla Ross, is a retired gymnast. Her career in playing the sport reached its peak when she became a member of the “Fierce Five” – a women’s gymnastics team that was formed at the 2012 Olympics, which was held in London. What made her participation in the 2012 Olympics phenomenal was the fact that Fierce Five was the second team, after Magnificent Seven, to bring a gold medal home for the United States. After that, she decided to go to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and play in the collegiate leagues for their gymnastics team. In the middle of 2019, she made a record in the 11th NCAA as the second person to achieve a perfect score of 10. She recently decided to end her career in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and retired on the 12th of March 2020.
