Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008
Whoopi is a down-to-earth woman, and uses her platform to influence people for the better. An example of this was in 2008 when she appeared at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, giving a short message. Not only did she wish all the contestants good luck, but she also stressed the importance of supporting UNICEF; the official charity of the song contest.
UNICEF
Whoopi has done more for UNICEF too. In 2003 she was formally appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, partnering with UNICEF to campaign for many issues, which included fundraising for the global response to COVID-19. Other issues she has campaigned for is tackling pneumonia. Whoopi has used her global reach to advance child rights and other humanitarian efforts, including HIV, education and substance abuse.
