During the administration of George W. Bush, Kenny was invited to a state dinner with John Howard, the Australian Prime Minister. The POTUS wanted Kenny Chesney to serenade the guests and perform at the event. As a gesture of gratitude, Bush gave the country star a pair of cowboy boots made with eel skin that had been designed by the talented Rocky-Carroll. They were even engraved with Kenny’s initials, as well as the flags of both the United States and Australia. The musician and the former head of state met again when Kenny performed the national anthem during the 2008 White House Tee Ball All-Star Game.
