Chuck Berry
Chuck Berry, a rock & roll pioneer, was born in 1926. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 90. Joe Lynch said that “Berry contributed three things to rock music: an irresistible swagger, a focus on the guitar riff as the primary melodic element, and an emphasis on songwriting as storytelling.” Chuck Berry is without a doubt responsible for the current state of rock music.
Steve Howe
Steve Howe is the lead guitarist for the progressive rock band Yes. Howe was the lead guitarist on Lou Reed’s first solo album after leaving The Velvet Underground, further solidifying his fame. After quitting Yes, Howe had a potential solo career. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
