Before Lynda Carter went on to play Wonder Woman, she first won the 1972 Miss World America pageant. She portrayed the comic book character for TV until the year 1979. She later continued acting and even dabbled in music. She has also worked on Sky High, The Dukes of Hazzard, Super Troopers 2, and Super Girl.

Her work on several Robert Altman movies earned her a fair bit attention in the industry. You definitely remember her from multiple 70’s films like Brewster McCloud, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, 3 Women, Nashville, and Thieves Like Us. After about a decade, she earned the status of a household name when she landed iconic parts in The Shining and Popeye. After the 90’s, she largely focused on producing children’s shows instead of acting. Her final acting credit was for a project in the early 2000’s. In 2016, her name made headlines when Dr. Phil and USA Today called her a mentally ill person.
