Richard had been divorced from his first wife, Kate, for about ten years when he was scheduled to visit his doctor for a normal check-up. He had no idea what was going on. However, this was the day that his life as he knew it was about to be turned upside down. Richard woke up one morning in 2016 and prepared to go to a doctor’s visit, completely unaware that this would be the beginning of the end of his life. The fact that he would be so utterly befuddled and furiously enraged when he left the doctor’s office was completely unknown to him.

In order to get a normal check-up, Richard scheduled an appointment with his doctor. He had no idea that the appointment would turn out to be anything but routine. In fact, he wasn’t even close to receiving news that would completely turn his world upside down. The doctor performed a few tests, and Richard had no way of knowing what the results would be until they were revealed. His doctor first informed him that he had Cystic Fibrosis, which was chronic lung disease. But that wasn’t the only surprise the doctor had in store for us.
