Hurricane Katrina
Celine Dion generally tries to keep out of politics. However, she could not restrain her emotions during the Hurricane Katrina ordeal in 2005. The singer went on Larry King Live to share what she had in mind. With tears in her eyes, she lambasted the US government for their slow disaster response. She even said, “There are people still there waiting to be rescued. To me that is not acceptable…How can it be so easy to send planes in another country to kill everybody in a second and destroy lives. We need to serve our country.”

There are many talented young artists who called Celine Dion one of their biggest influences. The list includes the likes of Adele, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Frank Ocean, Jordin Sparks, Lea Michele, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. If we were musically talented, we would have credited her, too!
