It was just a lot of old financial records this time. As she analyzed them, Laural’s mind wandered, and abruptly it hit her: she had recognized the Facebook Marketplace vendor! She will get to the bottom of this, as she logged on to Facebook again, she did think to herself. She knew she was right the minute she saw the seller’s profile. It had been him. Should she tell him what she’s just discovered?

Laural phoned in the number of the vendor. How would the call approach her? She’d just lay all of it out, she made the decision. She told him respectfully that she had found him in the locked drawer and that she knew he had much to do with it. The surname she recognized in the financial records was: De Pere.
