Geena Davis was a coveted item in the 1980s. She seemed to be able to do no wrong after Beetlejuice and then Thelma and Louise rocketed her to box-office superstardom. You couldn’t turn around in a supermarket in the 1990s without seeing Davis and her ex-husband Jeff Goldblum on a magazine cover. Their remake of the classic horror film The Fly is horrifying. Renny Harlin’s flop Cutthroat Island, directed by her now ex-husband, was the only genuine blemish on the ointment. They made the movie solely to help Geena establish her career.

Geena keeps her young beauty despite being in her fifties. The well-known actress is pictured here supporting the Women’s Sports Foundation in their battle for gender equality in sports. Geena still performs now and then, but she primarily concentrates her energies on activism. She’s even formed her own study center to look into gender stereotypes in the media. She was one of 300 women who applied for a berth on the 1999 Olympic women’s archery team. She may play an adult Katniss Everdeen if Disney sells the Hunger Games series.
