Emily Dickinson
Born in Massachusetts in 1830, Emily Dickinson is believed to be the most well-known female poet from the United States. She passed away in 1886. She went to an all-girls school and had always isolated herself from childhood until adulthood. In 1890, the people around her finally began to appreciate the poetry she wrote in total isolation.
