Too Plain To See
While looking directly at Eddy, the woman was speaking with the youngster. The boy’s eyes had a glimmer that Eddy couldn’t identify. There was a plot afoot. After finishing his breakfast, Eddy asked for his receipt, but the waitress walked over to the woman’s table before handing it to him.
At Odds
Eddy had no idea how conflicted the youngster who was sitting at the table with his mother. He had seen the officer right away and understood that he was the one who had made his mother’s life as a single parent more difficult financially. He wanted to confront the policeman about all of his mother’s parking tickets when he was only nine years old. He had seen his mother struggle, and the situation had only become worse because of this cop.
