Examining The Sticker
Darren exited his car and examined the sticker, which featured a red strike against a picture of a bottle. He assumed that everyone would understand that it was never acceptable to operate a vehicle while intoxicated, but perhaps he was mistaken. When Darren’s court date finally arrived, he briefed the judge on his life. His intentions were also stated on the sticker. Would the judge listen to him?

The judge listened carefully, just as he had in Jacob’s case. She alerted Darren of the rising crime rates in the area and the existence of gangs with identical badges on their cars. She expressed sympathy for Darren as well and praised him for stepping up to care for his family and buddy. These kinds of incidents serve as evidence that not everything is as it seems. Officer Eddy Macintosh’s tale is yet another excellent illustration of how not everything is as it seems. He was casually seated at Denny’s when a 9-year-old handed him a note that caused him to leap from his seat.
