Since she started her career, Whoopi has appeared in over 150 films and is one of only a few people to have received the ‘EGOT’ (An Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) award. Additionally, she is the only black woman to have won all four. Whoopi is the first African-American actor to have received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. She has also won a BAFTA and won two Golden Globe Awards.

Whoopi has had quite the life and career and has certainly overcome adversity and hardship to be successful. She’s made us laugh, she has left us in awe at some incredible acting performances and has certainly been an inspiration.
