Michelle Jenneke’s viral pre-race warm-up dance captivated social media in 2012. Jenneke, a hurdler, starts her pre-race warm-up with a smile and a lot of hip-shaking. Jenneke was never at the height of her field, therefore without the routine, she would not have attained the fame she has. She qualified for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but came in 37th place.

Lindsey Vonn – Olympic Skier

Lindsey Vonn is the most decorated female World Cup skier in history, with a trophy cabinet brimming with medals. Yet, the medals she did not get at the 2014 Winter Olympics haunt her. Vonn did miss substantial time due to injury, as many other athletes do at some point in their careers. Regrettably, Vonn was unable to defend her Olympic gold medal due to an injury.
