Billie Jean King is a sports legend most famous for her 1973 tennis match with Bobby Riggs. This match later earned the nickname the “Battle of the Sexes,” and Emma Stone portrayed the tennis player in a movie of the same name. Moreover, she became the first big female athlete to have come out in public as a lesbian after making an announcement in 1983. Six years after this event, she was honored with a spot in the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and her marriage to Larry King came to a close. She has since been in a relationship with her doubles partner Ilana Kloss, and they reside in New York.
