In the first half of the 2017 season, Giannis had a lot of high to his name. His 147 points in the first four games are the most in team history. The 175 points in five games are also the best start in NBA history. On top of that, he grabbed a career-high of 17 rebounds against Dallas Mavericks and by recording 40 points against the Celtics, he registered his third 40+ of the season.

In January 2018, Giannis was named a starter for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game for the second season in a row. Earlier that month, he scored 27 points and a career-high of 20 rebounds in a 104-95 win against the Wizards. He became the youngest Bucks to record a 20-20 game behind Andrew Bogut.
