In various locations, a rapper by the name of Xzibit came up at the front door of folks and gave their cars a makeover. Apparently, the makeover was solely cosmetic in nature, and hence all for show. When the car was given to the owner, one of the participants on the show claimed that it could barely move. The autos were sometimes not repaired for up to six months at a time.

It was shown on television for 13 years and featured several well-known personalities. The reality, on the other hand, has since come to light. A woman later filed a lawsuit against MTV, alleging that the network inaccurately depicted her rented home as the birthplace of Ja Rule. Oops.
