Any aircraft bearing the name “Hercules,” let alone “Super Hercules,” will undoubtedly be avoided. The C-130J was first flown by the US Air Force in 1996, and it has since been delivered to 15 more countries that have placed orders for it. This four-engine turboprop transport plane has outlasted all other military aircraft in history in terms of production time. Although this model is only about two decades old, the first Hercules took to the air six decades ago.

Martin JRM Mars

The Martin JRM Mars was a four-engine seaplane that was popularized during World War II and was the largest seaplane used by American and other Allied forces. Only seven of these planes were ever built, despite how impressive and effective they were. Four of the remaining flying boats were converted into firefighting water bombers after the war, making them even more useful. Those models, however, are no longer available.
