Sniffing Around
Humans may have five million olfactory receptors, but dogs have a staggering 220 million. Needless to say, dog noses are far superior to ours and can smell at least one thousand times better than ours can. When dogs sniff around, it is either because they are tracking prey or sensing danger. They will be silent and still as they do this. They can also tell who is who by smelling the people or individual dogs – even identical twins!

You have likely seen your dog sticking their tongue out and flipping it up, perhaps after you have discovered their pee on the floor. Dogs do this when they think they have done something wrong and they feel guilty and apologetic. Perhaps this is how they try to put on an innocent face.
