Boundaries
Nancy was well aware that as a teacher, she should avoid interfering in the personal lives of her students. However, over her teaching career, she had seen far too many instances like this one spiral out of hand, causing the child mental pain and other sorts of distress. When she spoke with Camden that day, she could tell he was confused and upset over what had happened at his house. She could tell he was disturbed and perplexed. The toddler did not appear to comprehend what was going on around him.

A Difficult Decision
The instructor felt a responsibility to this family, especially to her young and fragile student Camden, but could she help them as much as she wanted? The child treasured their time together in kindergarten. He was certain that his beloved teacher was the only person who could help him in this situation. Nancy planned to uphold her word to her student that she would do everything in her ability to try to make things better. She would always be there for him, even if it meant putting herself at risk. Nonetheless, she had to make a difficult decision before she could fully commit to doing so.
