The Organization
AFRA is an organization that aims to promote practices for engines and aircrafts that are both sustainable and beneficial. Another spokesperson once stated that there are around 1,200 to 1,800 airplanes that are to be dismantled all over the globe in the next three years. It means to say that there are at least 500 to 600 aircraft units that will be retiring yearly in the next 20 years. They believe that instead of dismantling them into scrap metal, innovative minds can transform them into more airplane homes in the future.

The Woods Of Hillsboro
Campbell shared the reason he decided to put his airplane home in the middle of Hillsboro, Oregon. When he got a job offer in the 70’s, he was assigned to this area of Oregon. From there, he fell in love with the greenery in the area. He once wrote on his website that “I like the area and it’s very green, and Oregon is a little independent-minded which appealed to me. It’s a country setting, it’s very nice. It’s more than enough for the aircraft.”
