Around that time, Campbell had already begun creating a home out of freight vans. However, he immediately changed his mind and came up with the idea of turning a gigantic plane into a more functional home. He believed that airplanes should not just be discarded once they take out the engine. Campbell had enough area for a plane in his 10-acre lot but his main issue was how he would be able to purchase an old plane and move it into his backyard in Oregon.

Purchasing An Airliner
In 1999, he was able to purchase a Boeing 727 from the Olympic Airways in Athens Airport. The plane cost around $100,000. After he was able to get the plane, his next move was to transport the humongous plane from Athens to Oregon.
