Man Buys Airplane And Turns It Into A Home In The Woods
You would definitely be shocked if you happened to see an airplane in the middle of the forest. Bystanders will most probably think that the plane crashed in this area. However, if you are someone from Hillsboro, Oregon, you will know that this is the home of Bruce Campbell, the man who lives in a plane.
Bruce Campbell is not the first person to have created a home out of something that is not intended to be one. However, there are many people who have recycled several vehicles and the like in order to create a home out of it. We often see cars and boats turned into homes but a plane is another thing altogether.
Many societies with unique cultures have traditions of creating different types of living spaces. They have created tree houses, mud-brick homes, and stone homes, just to mention a few. Seeing an actual plane transformed into a living space is definitely something unusual in our society.
Getting an airplane and converting it into a home is not an easy job. Bruce Campbell had to face several obstacles before he was able to renovate and lug the plane into his backyard. What’s even more surprising is that he was able to create a home out of it, complete with all the necessary things to cater to his needs. It was very surprising to hear how he was able to create a small loft out of an airplane with less space for a kitchen, a bedroom, and living area.
Bruce is a retired electrical engineer. This talented man is known for his innovative nature and likes to transform old planes into wonderful homes. Campbell believed that airplanes shouldn’t just be thrown away when they are no longer needed. With his imaginative side, he was able to turn scrap metal, and a piece of land into a unique home.
Creative Vision
Campbell, who is a retired electrical engineer, is now 64 years old. However, despite his age, he still maintains his creative vision. When he was still in his 20’s, Campbell had bought a piece of land which is estimated to be around 10 acres, in Hillsboro, Oregon for $23,000. Even though the lot was located in the middle of the forest, Campbell already had something planned out for his lot.
